President Carol reminded all members to keep selling raffle tickets. Each $10 ticket is a chance for a book of 100 $10 scratch tickets. The funds raised will benefit our scholarship fund. We’re hoping to sell all of them in time to have a drawing soon after Christmas. They’ll be great stocking stuffers. There are only 400 tickets to be sold, so get them while they last at the front table.
Debbie Logan, our Taunton High Interact leader, had a good meeting with 15 students. They elected a board of officers. Treasurer will be Mike Volkmann! Their next general meeting will be on Thursday, October 6th. We wish them well in their planning and look forward to collaborating this year.
On October 13th we will be having a bowling social at Ryan’s Family Amusement Center at 5:30 instead of our regular luncheon meeting. We have 5 lanes reserved for 2 hours. $10 per person includes the shoe rental. Our bowling night last year turned out to be a lot of fun for all, so we hope you can join.
The Providence Bruins hockey game is on November 5th. Tickets are $15 and $5 from the ticket price goes to the Polio Plus Campaign. It promises to be a fun night with family and friends, all in support of a good cause.
At the September 29nd meeting, we had a joint meeting with the Taunton Kiwanis club. Our speaker was Kiwanian, Massachuetts State Rep. Shaunna O'Connell. Rep. O'Connell shared her views on State Ballot Question 4 in the upcoming election which centers on the legalization, regulation and taxation of marijuana.
For this week's meeting Mike Tabak is the Program Chair and he has arranged for Robert Sullivan, President and CEO of Pet Food Aid to address the club.
