President Bob gave the membership some updates and information regarding Club activities:
The Rotary Scholarship application has been sent to area high schools. It is also available for download on our Club's website under Home Page Download. The deadline is April 29th if there are any students you want to share it with.
Thank you to our Rotary team of spellers for the TASC Spelling Bee on April 27 at 5:30 at Taunton High School. Good luck!
The District Conference is also coming up. It will be at the Sea Crest in Falmouth, May 5-7, and DG Roberts has been and will be sending information and registration details via email.
Save the Date for Family Fun Day! June 11 (rain date June 12), 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Camp Riverside.
At our most recent meeting...
We had a productive Family Fun Day planning meeting. Dave reported that $9,000 of the $15,000 goal has been raised! If you have additional contacts who may be interested in sponsoring this event, check your email for the procedures and forms to sign up new sponsors.
Johnny B. shared a volunteer sign up sheet. At an upcoming meeting, or by talking with John directly, please share your availability to volunteer at the event.
We also talked about parking needs, the merits of a sign-in table, maybe having a door prize, making sure people know this is a Rotary event, possibly selling water, and marketing ideas. Stay tuned for more updates and thanks to everyone for their input!
Happy/Sad Bucks
Zulmira was happy for that we have our Rotary Spelling Bee team!
Harry was happy that his wife's gallbladder surgery is now on the right track after an early set back. Sending good thoughts her way!
Will had a buck and shared the District's Interact Club monthly newsletter, which featured Prez Bob and the Taunton High Interact at the PBruins game on the front page!
Bob read some Interact happy bucks from the happy bucket.
