Club News & Announcements
Our most recent meeting was held on Thursday, August 22nd at Stoneforge and led by President George Mendros. We welcomed George's guest Susan Farley and Visiting Rotarian, Rick Conti.
George wished a "Happy Birthday" to all club members with August birthdays.
At our most recent meeting...
...0ur speaker was Todd Casto, Director of Taunton Emergency Management. Todd spoke about the work he has done in the department since joining 8 months ago. He shared that the idea of emergency management is focused on augmenting local police and fire, frequent risk assessments, and public outreach. He shared an Emergency Go-Bag handout (see blow) as a helpful tool for people to educate themselves about, and also offered to review and plans a local business may have to ensure that the city is as prepared as possible. Thanks to Todd for joining us, and for his friendly and interesting presentation.
Ed had 5 happy dollars to welcome Todd, fondly remember Joe Castro of East Taunton, and share that he recently took his six grandchildren fishing in Seekonk, where they caught a giant snapping turtle!
Carol Souza had a happy 5 dollars to welcome Todd--one of the nicest people she worked with at City Hall.
Jim Howland had a happy buck for his 4th grandchild born last weekend.
Jen had a sad buck for the passing of Dave Hutchinson.
Will had an info buck to share that the Taunton High Interact Club has an Instagram page, and if you are on that platform, give them a follow!
