Next meeting: August 28, 2025 (Aug. 22, 2025)

Our most recent club meeting was held on August 21 and led by President Bob. We welcomed two guests this week, District Governor Nicole Brien and Assistant District Governor Darcy Lee.

Bob shared a thank you note from the LeBrun family for the club's recent donation in Dan's honor to his grandkids scholarship fund.

Thanks to everyone who helped with the Backpack program! We received one more photo to share--Morton Hospital donating to the project.

Carol Sullivan shared Rotarians in the News.

Reminder: There is a Rotary District 7950 event at Bridgewater State University, "Unite for a Purpose Together We Succeed" on Sept 13, 8-12:30. See flyer below for more details and to register.

...we were honored to welcome District Governor Nicole Brien as our speaker. Nicole shared her vision for Rotary with a focus on building a strong, consistent brand rather than changing yearly themes. She reminded us that our district is made up of 65 active clubs, and emphasized the importance of connection and support across them.

Nicole asked us to consider: “How can the district help your club?” She encouraged us to continue engaging our scholarship recipients by inviting them back to share updates, and suggested hosting an appreciation event for our volunteer helpers. She also highlighted the importance of maintaining a strong digital presence, encouraging us to update our website to better reflect our work.

Before closing, Nicole expressed her gratitude, thanking each of us for being dedicated Rotarians and for the positive impact we make in our community.

And we thank her for her time and effort spent in Rotary and for joining us for lunch!

Joe M. was Happy to welcome the District Governor and Assistant District Governor. He was also happy to have attended the Alaska State Fair and is going to share a photo of the Rotary Beer Garden!
Dave T. had 10 Happy Bucks:
The first was for his semi-annual checkup which revealed he is 7 years cancer free! The rest of his bucks were for lunch with George and Joe Pacheco where they ran into John Beauchaine. They shared memories of Barnstable Village, near where Joe P. now works—Joe gave him a tour.
George got “locked up” but was let out.
Dick had a Happy Bucks for his August road trip to the Poconos; enjoyed rafting, kayaking, and other outdoor recreation in a beautiful setting.
Will was happy to be back after a few weeks away. He was happy to be celebrating his 15-year Rotary anniversary. And he shared some Happy Bucks for a trip to California with his mom for a surprise 80th birthday party for a relative. Also, he was glad to have DG and ADG with us.
George was Happy for his recent lunch with Dave and Joe, and that Dave treated them to ice cream afterward.
Carol Sullivan had buck to welcome our guests. She had Thank You Bucks to everyone who helped with the backpack project which was smooth, easy, and successful!
Mike C. had a buck to miss next week’s meeting because he'll be taking 2 of 3 kids to college!
District Governor Nicole Brien had 5 Bucks. She thanked us for being a welcoming club, is excited about the fun ahead, and sad that Labor Day is around the corner.
Assistant District Governor had Happy Bucks. She was thrilled to be here and excited for the year to come.
Ed had a Sad Dollar for attending another funeral this past weekend (a cousin in Maine). Bright spot: stumbled upon the Skowhegan Fair and had fun there.
