From the President
President Carol ran our meeting at Stoneforge.

The next board meeting will be immediately following our August 29th lunch meeting. One of the topics for discussion will be the time and location of future board meetings. Please be sure to attend and share your availability so that we can plan for meetings that are as convenient as possible for board members.

Carol passed around the following clippings from the Taunton Daily Gazette:

  • Bridgewater's Savings Bank Charitable Foundation grant to Pro-Home
  • Old Colony History Museum's Free Fun Friday
  • Old Colony History Museum's Wednesday Workshop: Learn to Crochet!

Joe Mitchell shared a Foundation Minute about Rotary grants.

Last Week's Speaker

At our most recent meeting, we welcomed four members of the Taunton High Interact Club to share their plans for the upcoming school year. They have quite a list of projects--including charity walks, collecting food for Our Daily Bread, continuing to weave "plarn" mats, sending cards to soldiers at the holidays, and more! Carol offered our assistance to them in any way that we can be helpful. It promises to be a very productive year!

Happy Bucks
Did you know that your happy and sad bucks help the club make a donation to the Rotary Foundation?
  • Ed had a happy buck. He recently saw Hamilton at PPAC and thought it was excellent.
  • Joe M. had 3 bucks for the 3 meetings he is going to miss while he is on vacation in Portugal, late August to early September.
  • Carol Souza had a happy buck for our four visiting Interact students.
  • Dan had a happy buck to have seen his bypass surgeon recently and been given the "ok" to drive and a general good bill of post-surgery health. He also had a sad buck, though, as he is only halfway to playing racquetball again.
  • Darrell had a happy buck for his daughter, who is about to start her senior year of college, and just got a job offer for after graduation from the company she was interning with.
