Club News & Announcements
Welcome back to President Bob after his trip to Taunton, England to attend their Taunton Rotary Club's Centenary Gala!
An update from Dan-
Around 300 mittens were distributed to six agencies on behalf of our Club. Each site received roughly 40-50 mittens, all of which Ed Fowler obtained from an East Taunton Woman who knits them (around 1000 of them!) throughout the year to give out at Christmastime.
I received the mittens via Mike Tabak at the Head Start party on Dec. 8th, and I gave out or delivered them all by Dec. 13th. FYI: At least two of sites (Girls Inc., Boys & Girls Club) commented that if these were like the ones they got a year ago, that they were a BIG hit with the children last year!
Just so you know, mittens were distributed as follows:
AHS and Head Start
YMCA (for both their after school, and child care, programs)
Boys & Girls Club of Metro South
Girls Inc.
First Parish Church for Matthew Mission
A thanks to Ed for obtaining these beautiful mittens and allowing our Club to distribute them, and of course to the woman who makes them!
Thank you, Dan!
We're back at Stoneforge this week for Jen Perry's Classification Talk.
At our most recent meeting...
...we enjoyed a fellowship meeting at the Old Colony History Museum. Some Rotarians were able to arrive early and see a few of the Rotary items in the OCHM collection as part of the Museum's Throwback Thursday program. At noon we enjoyed pizza, a brief recap of Bob's trip to Taunton, England, and fellowship after our recent holiday break.
Thanks to OCHM Curator of Collections, Bronson Michaud for sharing images and objects related to local Service Clubs and Organizations.
