 President's Announcements

Past President Carol ran our latest meeting, as Joe enjoyed a well-deserved vacation out in Montana. Carol passed around a copy of the Gazette which had Jody on the front cover and Dan on the back. Congrats to both for the good press!

Kerrie had an announcement that the Chamber's Ladies Golf Outing will be September 15th. Feel free to chat with Kerrie for more information.

Kit had an announcement that the 23rd annual AHS Spaghetti Supper will be September 22nd at St Nicholas of Myra. Tickets are on sale now.

A reminder that the program speaker list is out. Please check to see which date you have been assigned and think about who may be an interesting speaker for the group. If you have a conflict or someone who doesn't match up with your date, let Rich or Joe know and we can always switch things around.

Speaking of programs, our Christmas concert at Taunton High School has been booked for December 7.

Carol gave an excellent presentation about hospice, dispelling myths and explaining facts in a very warm and engaging way. Her work is to educate the public so that no one fears hospice and both patients and families can benefit from both hospice and palliative care. Carol shared that she feels her work is a calling and her passion and commitment were truly evident in her presentation. For anyone looking for more information you can visit their website at http://www.oldcolonyhospice.org/.

Quote of the Week
"[That] old September feeling...of summer passing, vacation nearly done, obligations gathering, books and football in the air...
Another fall, another turned page: there was something of jubilee in that annual autumnal beginning,
as if last year’s mistakes and failures had been wiped clean by summer."
