Club News & Announcements
From the President
At our most recent meeting, held on November 16th, President Joe presided over our Club's meeting.

President Joe reminded the club that there is no meeting next week and wishes the club a very happy Thanksgiving!

Our next meeting will be November 30 and this will be a walking tour of historic Downtown Taunton. Please meet at the Old Colony History Museum (66 Church Green) at 12 noon. And dress warmly!

Rotary night at the Providence Bruins will be December 2. Tickets are only $15. If you are interested in purchasing tickets, please contact David DeNitto at 401-680-4706 or denitto@pseagency.com.

Phil reported on the Foundation Dinner. He was very impressed with the Keynote Speaker, Razia Jan, Founder & President of the Zabuli Education Center, Afghanistan. Razia has worked for many years to forge connections between Afghans and Americans. Her humanitarian efforts are honored in First Lady Laura Bush's 2016 book We Are Afghan Women. Phil also shared an Annual Report on the Water For Cambodia Project. Well into it's second decade of providing clean water, health and hygiene education along with literacy classes to under served villagers in Cambodia.

President Joe passed around articles from the Taunton Daily Gazette featuring Dan and AHS, Kerrie and the Chamber's 100th anniversary gala, and the Boy Scouts Scouting for Food Drive.

Ed had a report on the upcoming holiday events. The Christmas Concert and Lunch at Taunton High will take place on December 7th. Be sure to let Ed know if you are coming, and how many guests you are bringing!

Our annual Children's Christmas party in partnership with Head Start will be on December 7.
Guests
You can bring a guest to a Rotary meeting!
This week we welcomed:
  • Gloria Saddler's daughter and two-week old granddaughter!
  • Gina DeRossi, Register of Probate, Bristol County Probate and Family Court
Last Week's Speaker
At our most recent meeting, Beth Teixeira was the Program Chair. She invited Gina DeRossi, Register of Probate for the Bristol County Probate and Family Court to present to the group. Gina gave a candid and informative presentation on her role as register and probate and also about how most of us will visit the probate and family court sometime in our lifetime. She sees her role as register to make your Probate & Family Court more user-friendly and accessible. Her position is an elected one, which has both benefits and drawbacks, but she enjoys it and looks forward to continuing to modernize and improve the Court for the citizens of Bristol County.
