From the President
President Carol ran our meeting at Stoneforge. She mentioned that Debbie Logan is interested in hosting a Paint Night with proceeds to benefit the Rotary Club. If anyone wants to work on that program or has any ideas for it, please reach out to Carol. Also, a reminder to please bring plastic bags for the Interact Club if you have them!

Carol also passed around articles in the Taunton Daily Gazette, highlighting club members.
Guests
You can bring a guest to a Rotary meeting!
This week we welcomed:

  • Sasha Ferreira, our speaker

Last Week's Speaker

At our most recent meeting, we welcomed  Sasha Ferreira, Marketing Director at The Arbors at Taunton. Sasha joined The Arbors in 2015 as a receptionist and has worked her way up through her passion for helping families find a safe space as they navigate what can be challenging transitions for their older family members. She shared about the mission of The Arbors to enhance the quality of life for their residents through genuine care and comfort. Thanks for joining us, Sasha!

This week we will welcome Steve Torres.
Happy Bucks
Did you know that your happy and sad bucks help the club make a donation to the Rotary Foundation?
  • Joanne had happy bucks for her son's 22 birthday, her 23rd anniversary, and a buck for Joe who, probably for the only time ever, go to see the Giants win a game in Foxboro.
  • Zulmira had a sad buck for missing a few weeks, a happy buck to be back, and a happy buck for her son settled in back at college.
  • Carol Souza had 5 happy bucks for Tip Torres being our speaker next week, her 25-year Rotary anniversary, and for being the person, right after joining, who made the motion that the club gets back to doing Happy & Sad Bucks after they had stopped for a while!
  • Dick had an info buck for the Arts Collaborative Taunton (ACT) monthly newsletter on all your tables. Lots going on in the city this month!
  • Joe L. had a sad buck for missing August meetings at our club, but he has been traveling around the district in his new role. He had a buck for his boundless optimism renewed at the start of football season. And he had a buck for getting back into rugby this year, which his first game coming up.
  • John D. had a happy buck for his son losing a tooth that could be saved (and not digested) so that the tooth fairy could visit. He had a second happy buck for his son,  thanks to AHS's help,   recently heading off to school on the bus, fully verbal and fully participating. He had a tooth fairy buck for Joe, who may need a visit after that rugby game. Finally, he is presenting a Cyber Security class for the South Coast Chamber. For tickets, click here.
  • Ed had a buck for Cam's 1 year anniversary and Carol's 25 year anniversary. He had a buck to welcome Sasha. And shared a story, for a dollar, about visiting his stepmother at The Arbors and helping to identify some lost teeth!
  • Jody had a happy buck for his daughter, Heidi, starting at the BU School of Theology.
