Club News & Announcements
Our most recent meeting was held at the Stoneforge and led by President Bob. We welcomed a guest, Brett Marcotte from the Boy Scouts.
Bob updated the club that he, President-elect Joe, and Secretary Zulmira recently attended a Rotary training. One result of that is to remind everyone to sign up for a MyRotary account, so that club activities, goals, fundraising, and more can all be seamlessly linked together and help our club to grow.
Ed Fowler reminded us it is time to put together a slate of new officers for the upcoming Rotary year. If you'd like to get more involved in the club, please chat with Ed, Bob, or Joe.
Upcoming Events:
The District Conference is scheduled for April 28-30 at Seacrest.
Please consider reaching out to your networks for sponsorships. There are a variety of levels for all business sizes. It's a great way to build brand awareness and show support for an event that sees hundred of local families. Any questions, feel free to reach out to Dave.
At our most recent meeting...
...Dave Correia led us with a Family Fun Day planning meeting. So far, just over half of our $16,000 fundraising goal has been met. Dave encouraged everyone to continue reaching out to possible sponsors in support of this event.
Since we last met, Dave has secured a food vendor for the events, booked all the entertainment, and is working with the Boys & Girls Club on the registration QR code to help ease the arrival process. He has also found a second shuttle option to allow us to accommodate the growing crowds.
Areas that still need Rotarian support:
--Overflow parking lot site
--Volunteer Coordinator
--Promotion and Marketing
--Sponsorships
If you are able to assist Dave with any of these tasks, please reach out. Dave does an amazing job, but he shouldn't have to do it alone!
Carol had 5 sad bucks. She recently hit a deer on Rt. 44 and so one of her bucks was for her car, and the other four were for the deer, which ran off and she hopes is OK.
John had a happy buck that MCAS testing is over and a happy buck that his dad is doing well at LifeCare and they are hoping he can come home soon.
Shavon had a happy buck to be able to be at the meeting today.
Joe had a sad buck for a colleague who gave her notice, who is excellent and will be missed.
Ed had a buck to share that Dorothea Court says "hello" to members of the club.
Bob had a happy buck that Michelle is doing better. He had a happy buck to hear that John's father is doing better. And he had a final happy buck for the Mass ReConnect program at community college that was the subject of an event he was attending after our meeting.
Dave C. had a buck to say that he saw Christine Kelly recently and she said to say "hi."
