 President Announcements

President Joe reminded everyone that the December 10th meeting is at Taunton High School starting at noon.  Lou is scheduled to play the coach horn and the Interact club members have been invited to attend. 
 
The children's Christmas party is scheduled for next week December 17th.  There will be no meetings on December 24th or 31st.  Rick Conti did a makeup at the Attleboro club.

Happy & Sad Bucks

Did you know that your happy and sad bucks help the club make a donation to the Rotary Foundation? 

  • Rick C. was happy to remind everyone that 50 years ago today the Beatles first went into the studio.
  • Lisa S. shared a story about her son who is wrestling again this year and is the favorite to win the state title in the 125 pound weight category.
  • Dick S. shared a flyer of the community events sponsored by the Arts Collaborative.
  • Phil was happy that he won the scratch ticket but sad that he didn't win anything on the ticket.
  • Beth T. was happy to be back at Rotary. Beth also shared a story about her son Andrew's final college football game as well as a story about her son Matthew's budding college wrestling career.  Beth encouraged everyone to attend the children's Christmas party on the 17th.
  • Joe L saw Jamie Crossman who sends her love to the club.
  • Joe M was happy that his son and granddaughter are visiting on the cape.

 Lisa Storrs introduced the guest speaker, Henry "Hank" Mello who shared the story of his service in Viet Nam and his battle with PTSD.  Hank encouraged anyone suffering from this or any other form of depression to ask for help.  After several questions Hank received a standing ovation from the club and a Rotary mug from Lisa and Joe.

  • Jackie Theis won the scratch ticket.
  • Ray McAndrews won the 50/50 raffle by drawing the Ace of Hearts. Ray splits the pot of $535 with the Rotary foundation.
