Club News & Announcements

Our most recent Rotary meeting was held at Stoneforge on October 19. President Joe ran the meeting.

We welcomed Jen's guest Attar Chalif, from Cornerstone Financial, to this week's meeting.

A final reminder that this year, the Rotary Foundation Dinner will be a Foundation luncheon on November 4th. District leadership emailed information about tickets, if you are interested in attending.

On November 18, Rotary District 7950 is hosting a Membership Day. Here is that flyer:

At our most recent meeting...

...we welcomed Carol Graves, Vice President of Development and Education at New Hope, who presented on New Hope. New Hope engages survivors, stakeholders and communities to build an anti-violence movement. Using a trauma-informed practice, we work with those impacted by sexual and domestic violence, as well as those persons who use abuse in their intimate relationships. We are committed to practices that promote racial and gender equity, while also elevating persons living with disabilities, LGBTQIA+ identified persons and immigrants.

She also shared that October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM). Carol joined us  'Purple Thursday' on, October 19, where people wear purple to show support for those who have experienced domestic violence and abuse and let them know that help is available for themselves and their families.

Thank you to Carol for joining us !

Happy & Sad Bucks

  • Dave C. had a sad buck for Claire's passing. He shared how happy he is to have known her and how much she will be dearly missed.

  • Jen had a sad buck for Claire. She was happy to have Attar as a guest today. And happy for a quick trip to NYC with her to visit with her daughter.

  • Dick had a sad buck for Claire and a buck for God to bless her family.

  • John had a sad buck for Claire, particularly for how hard she fought and for how she did it with so much grave and positivity. He added a buck for that grave and vibrancy that never wavered. He was happy to remember the support he got from fellow Rotarians when his father passed away. He was happy for his daughter competing in a cheerleading competition this weekend. And also happy for wrapping up a really big project at work.

  • Dan had a sad buck for Claire who was a beacon of light and hope, and an inspiration to anyone who knew her. He also had a sad buck for his wife, who was in in Maine with her brother who is in the hospital. He had a happy buck that his grandson had his second best soccer weekend this past weekend.

  • Jody had a sad buck for Claire, and thanked her for all of her work, on behalf of the club, with the exchange program with Taunton, England.

  • Joe had a buck for a memory he will cherish of bowling with Claire and how much fun they all had. It will stick with him and he is happy for that.
