President Carol Sullivan reminded everyone to bring in their scratch tickets so we can start to get an idea of how we are doing. We have a total of 400 to sell and would like to have an accurate count to keep the momentum going!
Carol reminded the club of the upcoming Children's Christmas Party which will be the evening of December 8, pending the Pilgrim Church availability. Most importantly, Santa is on board and all other plans are in motion. The club will start collecting donations for toys next week, and we are looking forward to another great annual Rotary event.
The board voted to have their November Board Meeting at the Rotary Foundation dinner, which is coming up in a few weeks.
Finally, we were all glad to see the joint Rotary-Kiwanis meeting in the Taunton Daily Gazette, but sad they the wrong picture ran and no Rotarians were included!

Will M. was happy to report that the Interact meeting he attended went very well. The groups has a lot of project ideas and are highly motivated. It promises to be a great year for them!
Johnny B. was sad to miss last week, but had what seemed to be a "spite buck" for Roger Goodell, as he thanked him for giving Tom some extra time off to be ready to be dominating the league as he has so far.
Dick S. was happy to have recently been a part of the 43rd Taunton Development Corporation Annual Meeting. It had great attendance despite some parking curiosities. Dick also had an information buck for the Taunton River Watershed Alliance annual meeting coming up on 11/5.
Jeff Walker had a buck that he thought would be happy, because on his way in he finally saw a biker in the infamous Rt. 24 bike lane and was going to announce this observed usage to the club. But, it turned out to be Johnny B. on his new motorcycle, so not the type of bike he was looking for.
Kit T. had a happy buck that on 11/10 AHS will be hosting their Annual Wine and craft Beer tasting. The event will take place at Occasions @ Village South from 5:30—8:30 pm. Tickets—$25 in advance, $30 at the door. There are 100 wines to try and it's always a fun event for those who can make it!
Rick C. had a happy buck for being nominated as Secretary of the Bristol County Assessors Association. Congrats Rick!
Stephanie M. had a thank you buck to Joe Mitchell and George Mendro for attending the Old Colony YMCA annual meeting. She had a second information buck for the Y's 33rd annual 5-mile Turkey Trot coming up on 1/13. There is a one-mile walk this year for those who don't wish to run, so a good time should be had by all.

At the November 3rd meeting, Kit Tunney was the Program Chair. We welcomed Tom Smith, General Manager of the Silver City Galleria. Tom took on this role in March 2016, and is a second generation mall manager. He has extensive experience in malls throughout New England and is optimistic about the future of the Silver City Galleria. While things are somewhat on hold as they wait to hear on the status of the casino project, Phase 1 renovations have seen increased foot traffic at the Regal Cinemas, bowling alley, and with the introduction of a Bristol Community College campus within the mall.
Following his talk, Tom answered questions about soft-target security challenges, the idea of housing/grocery shopping in a mall, and how he sees trends in destination shopping evolving into the future. Tom did a great job, we wish him luck in his new role, and thank him for speaking to us.
For this week's meeting Kit Tunney will be introducing our speaker, Kimberly Murphy, Executive Director of Taunton Community Access & Media, Inc. (TCAM TV). Kim has been with TCAM for the past ten years. Sharing her knowledge and experience in the Cable and Video world should be a very interesting program for all.
