At our most recent meeting, held on December 14th, Past President Carol Sullivan presided over our Club's meeting.
Carol wanted to share her thanks to everyone who helped out with the Holiday Party at THS and Kids' Christmas Party last week. Both were great events, and a wonderful Rotary tradition we look forward to every year.
We did a final pass of the cauldron for the gratuity for our servers at Stone Forge. We'll be presenting the collection at this week's meeting.
The scratch ticket raffle is back! Everyone is getting 5 tickets to sell, but you are encouraged to sell as many as possible!
Pancake and Family Fun Day has been confirmed for June 16th--mark your calendars!
At our most recent meeting, Dennis Cody was the Program Chair. Dennis arranged for his youngest son, John, to present to the group. John is a graduate of Providence College who moved to Italy to work for travel company after college. From there, he taught English in Thai government schools. Combining his two passions of travel and education, John now works for Rustic Pathways a travel organization whose mission is to empower students through innovative and responsible travel experiences to positively impact lives and communities around the world. John shared his passion for his work, some of his more challenging adventures overseas, and the lessons he has learned around the world with the group. He offered a unique and well-presented program, and it was a pleasure to learn about his travels.
Did you know that your happy and sad bucks help the club make a donation to the Rotary Foundation?
Beth had 5 bucks. One was for our speaker, John Cody. One was definitely happy because she was able to be at Rotary two weeks in a row. One was a very happy buck for the success of the Kids' Party. Finally, the Christmas luncheon at THS reminded her of all the years when her dad was her guest at this event. She loved that the chorus sang "You Make Me Feel So Young," which was a great favorite of her dads. She felt he was with her and if that is not worth a buck, then nothing is.
Johnny B. was happy for the Kids' Party. It's always a pleasure to see how much fun the kids are having and how appreciative the parents are. He also had a "Go Celtics" buck and a "Go Patriots" buck.
Ed had a thank you buck for all of the cards, calls, and thoughts after his dad's recent passing. It was greatly appreciated.
