Our most recent club meeting was held on November 13, and we were led by President Bob! He highlighted November birthdays and anniversaries and we welcomed two guests: Bob's guest, his wife Michelle and Katie's guest, Bronson Michaud, Curator of the Old Colony History Museum.
We are now collecting for the Children's Christmas party. We can take cash donations in person or anytime via Venmo.
Our Holiday Luncheon at Taunton High will take place on the first Thursday in December. A sign-up sheet was being passed around for both guests and attendees so that Ed can place the food order—please be sure to add your name or reach to Ed if you are unable to make a regular meeting but want to attend on 12/4.

At Our Most Recent Meeting...
In honor of Veterans Day, Rotarian John Danahey shared a look into his military career and the path that led him from Massachusetts to service overseas. John began as a Military Occupancy Specialist working in communications with the National Guard, a role that often had him climbing dangerous utility poles. Rising through the ranks from E1 to E8, he reached the cap for his position, and was then encouraged to requalify in artillery, which opened the door to a transfer into a highly technical unit responsible for radar operations. This unit specialized in identifying the origin of incoming rounds—work that became essential after the start of the Global War on Terrorism in 2001.
By June 2002, his unit was preparing to send boots on the ground to Afghanistan. One of John’s responsibilities during this period was to alert soldiers when they were activated to Title 10 active-duty status, a task that brought the realities of deployment close to home.
Inevitably, John received notice of his own activation—for no fewer than 545 days. He reported to Fort Drum for mobilization and training before deploying through Kuwait, completing a motor march to his forward operating base, and ultimately reached Iraq.
John and his unit completed their mission with excellence, exemplifying dedication, professionalism, and service under demanding conditions. We thank John for sharing his story—and for his service to our country.
George had a Happy Buck for Russell Martorana receiving an award from the Y. He also made note that he is Venmo-ing the buck as a test.
Zulmira had a Hopeful Buck for Carol who is one track to be able to go home on Sunday. She added a Reminder Buck that the Head Start Party is on December 11. And finally a Thankful Buck to everyone who came to the AHS Wine Tasting.
Harry had 15 bucks! He started with Apology/Update Bucks that his wife is doing okay; chemo treatments are every three weeks on Thursdays, which is why he can’t attend often. The majority of his bucks were very happy as he recently celebrated becoming a great-great-grandfather to baby Logan Harold Motta, born October 23. Congrats!
Dick Shafer had a Happy Buck for the story of how he was “blackballed” from Rotary in 1987 because he wouldn’t put an ATM in the Industrial Park.
John D. had a Happy Buck for giving a presentation today. he had a Sad Buck that it wasn’t about cyber security. Also one more Happy Buck for celebrating his son’s birthday, which falls the day after Veterans Day.
President Bob had a Happy Buck to be here after experiencing chest pains ten days ago; spending some time in the hospital, but being on the mend!
Ed had a Congrats Buck to Bob for being back; a Happy Buck to hear Carol is recovering; a buck with good wishes for Harry and his wife; a buck for Michelle who was able to join us as a guest; and then one more buck he can’t remember the reason for!
