President's AnnouncementsAt our June 8th meeting, President Carol reminded the club that we are just over a week away from Pancake and Family Fun Day! Remember, this is our biggest fundraiser of the year and so we need to make it as big of a success as possible. Flyers are out. All but two sponsorships have been sold! Raffles are coming in (you can still get yours to Kit this week). Volunteers are amassing. Food is organized and menus are prepared. Please be sure to let Johnny B know if you are NOT coming so that he can update the work schedule. Thanks to all for the hard work already put into this event and for everyone's efforts this week. It promises to be a great event! Scratch ticket reminder: bring back all sold and unsold scratch tickets! We need the money and the unsold tickets we can sell at the event. Ed Fowler provided an update about the Taunton Youth Exchange program. We have two young ladies will be visiting from Taunton, England the first two weeks of July. Ed Fowler is diligently working on this and shared a tentative calendar with the group. This is a work in progress and if you can help out as a host or with an activity, please let Ed know. Carol announced June birthdays and Rotary anniversaries. President Carol Sullivan and Rotary member, Dr. Robert Hunt visited Dr. Harold Goren at Longmeadow Nursing Home to present Dr. Goren with "The Service Longevity Award in Recognition of 50 or More Years of Dedicated Service to Rotary."
