NEXT MEETING: April 18, 2024
12:o0 p.m. at Stoneforge

Club News & Announcements

Our most recent meeting was held at Stoneforge on April 11. President Joe ran the meeting and we acknowledged birthdays and Roary anniversaries in April.

President Joe then had the honor of inducting a new member to our club! Welcome to Francine Victoria, who was welcomed with our "pinning" ceremony. We will hear from Francine at a future classification talk, and look forward to working together in Rotary. Welcome, Francine!

Our April 25th evening meeting will take place at Union Straw at 5:30 pm.

At our recent board meeting, it was decided to sell 50 raffle tickets for the Rotary Club of Cognac, France cognac, donated by Lou Ricciardi. Stay tuned for ticket information.

Sergeant-at-Arms Ed Fowler announced the opening of Nominating season. Please consider taking on a board role in the club to help us grow and thrive. Extra thanks to Zulmira for taking on the speaker planning role this year and doing it so well! President Joe added: "All members can reach out to the nominating chairman if they want to nominate someone for a leadership position."

A reminder: our club's High School Scholarship form is now available!  It has been sent to area guidance offices and can be downloaded from our website here Our review committee's two main considerations are need and community service. High school seniors at Bridgewater-Raynham, Bristol County Agricultural, Bristol-Plymouth Technical, Dighton-Rehoboth, or Taunton High School are encouraged to apply.

Upcoming Events:
  • Interact Club Blood Drive, Saturday, May 4, Taunton High
  • Tuesday, May 7, joint meeting with Kiwanis at La Familia (no Thursday meeting)
  • Rotary Day of Service May 18
  • Rotary Family Fun Day, June 8 (rain date June 9)

At our most recent meeting...

...we heard a planning update about Family Fun Day from Dave Correia. Since we last met a face painter has been hired, the Cheesy Chicks food truck has been booked, the overflow parking lot has been secured, shuttles are in progress, and 10 lawn signs have been printed. If you take it you have to bring it back! Signs will be up by May 1.

We are waiting on the QR code for pre-registration to start with flyer promo. We will also reach out to the city about the blinking sign on Taunton Green.

Fundraising stands at $11,500 secured. We need to raise at least $16,000 and our goal this year is $20,000. Please consider who we can reach out to sponsor this important event.

Here is the info if you know someone who may be a sponsor: Use this Sponsorship Ask to start the conversation. If interested, a business can learn more and select their level with the Sponsorship Form. If they are interested, but looking for a smaller commitment, share the Ad Form

These forms can all be found on our club website, and will continue to be linked in this space through the event! Please keep Dave in the loop as you secure sponsors and ads. And be sure to reach out with any questions. Our fundraising goal is only possible if everyone is a part of the process!

The day-of Volunteer Sign-Up form was passed around and will be at future meetings. Please add your name for the role you would prefer!
