Club News & Announcements

President Bob ran this week's meeting. 
 
We welcomed two guests. Tara from PRIDE was Jen's guest and Rebecca, a landscape architect, was a guest of Julie.
 
We also welcomed Visiting Rotarian John Beauchaine. 
 
Next week, we are experimenting again with a social meeting in the evening. There will not be a lunch meeting on 2/16. All Rotarians are invited to the Old Colony History Museum for an evening of fun and fellowship at the museum's Wine & Chocolate Tasting at 6 pm. For anyone interested in attending, you can reserve your tickets here.
 
Upcoming Events:
  • The district’s annual Providence Bruins event is coming up on February 26. See President Bob for tickets.
  • Our annual dinner meeting with the Interact Club will be held March 16, 5:30 at Home Plate.
  • Rotary Leadership Institute will be offering sessions. Our region's is scheduled for 3/18 in Bourne should anyone be interested in attending. 
  • The District Conference is scheduled for April 28-30 at Seacrest.

At our most recent meeting...

...we welcomed Margie McNally of Interior Elements Design. Margie shared her experience as an interior designer and environmental consultant specializing in sustainable design and improving quality of life by enhancing living spaces. Her approach to interior design is a relationship between sustainability, resource efficiency, livability,  good indoor environmental quality and optimal health.

Happy & Sad Bucks

  • Michael,  had a happy buck for his son who recently turned 18.
  • John had 5 bucks. One was happy for being with us. One was happy for his daughter who is getting married this year. One is sad for the economic side of his daughter getting married this year. And the rest were sad bucks for the people of Turkey and Syria. 
  • Bob Hunt had a happy buck for the new vacuum the Board approved to as a donation to Pilgrim Church, with thanks for serving as a venue for many events throughout the years. 
  • Katie had a happy buck for our guest Margie McNally. 
  • Zulmira had a buck for Dan who continues to be dong better. And an apology buck for having to leave a bit early for a meeting. 
  • Julie had happy bucks for our two guests; another for her eldest son who is happily training in various places around the country for work; and a final happy buck for getting together with her mentee for lunch. 
  • Dick had an information buck for the Souper Bowl at Taunton High. 
  • Dave T. had 5 bucks. 4.5 were happy for the 4.5 years he has been cancer free. And .5 bucks of optimism for an upcoming scan his doctor assures him is nothing.
