At Our Most Recent Meeting...
...we welcomed Talisa Proctor, who spoke about the Taunton Melanin Market. A recently formed non-profit, the Taunton Melanin Market is a vibrant community of Black and brown-owned businesses in Taunton, Massachusetts, and surrounding areas providing a platform for entrepreneurs. They have held a few events to great success, most recently a Taunton Got's Talent event, and are looking to expand in the coming months. You can check them out online at https://www.tauntonmelaninmarket.org/.
Zulmira had two happy bucks. One for the AHS wine tasting (tickets available) and for being happy to have Talisa here today.
Jen had 5 Happy Bucks for Cassandra passing the bar!
Carol Sullivan had happy bucks for: a great visit to Vermont to see Meghan; enjoying the Telephone Museum in Warner, NH using her OCHM membership; a sad buck for having no special coins in the stash she gave Ed to review; and a happy buck for having purchased tickets for her holiday trip to see the Rockettes!
Dick had a happy buck for the 52nd Annual Meeting for TDC —which is kind of sad because they have no more property and are deciding on the future of the organization.
Katie had 3 happy bucks. One for the upcoming Liberty & Union Weekend! One to thank to TDC for their recent support of the OCHM, and one for the Interact club members who will be volunteering at the event.
Will had 10 bucks — sad for family challenges with his mom; thanks to Zulmira and Katie for helping with Interact. A hopeful buck that he'll be able to attend the district-wide Youth Engagement Council meeting coming up.
Jody: Sad bucks for the recent passing of two Rotarians — Ed Valadeo and Sid Dobson (whose obituary is in the paper today).
Prez Bob had happy bucks to be Pouring for a Cause! Also, an info buck that at Tuesday’s board meeting, the board discussed nominations for a Service Above Self award — only 150 awarded across all of Rotary. If you have a suggestion, reach out to Bob.
