NEXT MEETING: January 23, 2025
12:00 p.m. at Stoneforge
Club News & Announcements
Our most recent meeting was held on January 16, led by President George Mendros.
We will not be having an evening meeting in January. Please note the January 30 meeting will be at noon at Stoneforge. President George will give a mid-year report. We will resume evening meetings in February.
The Board met on 1/14, and thanks to everyone who was able to make the meeting. It was voted to financially support 2-3 students from the Taunton High Interact Club so that they can attend RYLA. RYLA is an intensive leadership experience organized by Rotary clubs and districts where you develop your skills as a leader while having fun and making connections. Thanks to Will who is helping to promote this opportunity with the Interact club and for bringing it to our attention.
Reminder from the Taunton High Interact Club:
The Interact Club is hosting a Coat Drive! Please consider donating any gently used winter gear items and bring them to our January 30th meeting. Club liaison Will Mendonca will collect items and get them to the Interact Club.
At Our Most Recent Meeting...
...we had a change in the schedule. Ed Fowler was able to step in and present on currency. We covered dye packs, star notes, unique and collectible coins from around the world, and also some interesting bills that were printed as a means to protect American currency during World War 2. Ed had a number of interesting examples he shared wth the group.
Thanks to Ed for stepping in, and for always sharing an entertaining and informative presentation to the club.
Ed had a Sad Dollar for the recent passing of Jody's brother-in-law. He had a Happy Buck for Bob being with us today and for his wife's successful liver transplant recently.
Joe had Happy Bucks for Bob and Michelle.
Bob had a Happy Buck to be at the meeting today, and to share that Michelle is doing awesome with no serious complications.
Will had a Sad Buck that he lost his dad a year ago today. He had a Happy Buck to see an email from Dan, who seems to be in good spirits, and added a Thanks Buck to board for voting a commitment to RYLA this May.
Jody had a Sad Buck for loss of his brother-in-law. He added a Happy Buck for Ed having the program today.
George had a Happy Buck for good news about Michelle.
