Club News & Announcements
From the President
Past President Carol Sullivan welcomed everyone to our latest meeting, held at Stoneforge on Thursday, May 3, 2018.

There was no Board of Directors meeting following the weekly meeting.

The flyer for Pancake and Family Fun Day is the header on this week's mascot. It has also been added to the Rotary Website (https://portal.clubrunner.ca/5096) as a downloadable file. Please post, distribute, and share widely!

Guests
You can bring a guest to a Rotary meeting!
This week we welcomed:
  • Visiting Rotarian, Darrell Carlson

Last Week's Speaker
We didn't have a speaker, so we did a quick update on Pancake and Family Fun Day planning.

We need to sell ads. As soon as the material to be used is ready, sell, sell, sell.

Dave C. already has corporate sponsorships coming in.

The event flyer is the header of this email, and a copy is on the website to be downloaded and shared.

If you have a Rotary event sign, put it out!

Kit is coordinating raffle table and themed baskets. If you want to donate a basket, please connect with Kit!

Happy Bucks
Did you know that your happy and sad bucks help the club make a donation to the Rotary Foundation?
  • Dick Shafer had an announcement buck for the program Music in the Grove on Sunday May 6th, 2-5. He was also happy to have been in Tennessee and Kentucky recently, as well as a Coast Guard wedding in Washington, D.C. at the end of his trip.
  • Carol Sousa happy for Ed and for taking all his ones. And also happy to be back!
  • Dave C. had a "thanks buck" to Jess for selling our first table ad for Pancake and Family Fun Day.
  • Jody had a buck for missing the last meeting, but happy that is was in order to choose a great new superintendent for the Taunton Public Schools.
  • Will M. had a buck for the good work of the Taunton Pathways Committee which is working to with the Baker Administration to get a $3-4 million investment in the trail.
  • Ed shared an observation buck about the recent trend of short "drive-by" funerals which apparently saves people around $700. This seems to be a reaction by funeral directors who aren't always paid for their services!
  • Jess had a happy buck for a lovely day spent in Boston for her boyfriend's graduation from Northeastern University. Congrats!
  • Darrell had a happy buck for his son is getting married in 3 weeks!
