President Joe welcomed everyone to our latest meeting, held at Stoneforge on Thursday, April 19, 2018.

Programs from Phil's memorial service were passed around. Those who were there shared that it was exceptionally well done and a great tribute to Phil.

Joe then passed around the latest Water for Cambodia newsletter. That organization continues to do great work, and we are glad that the Rotary and Interact clubs are supporters of their efforts.

Joe Mitchell shared a Foundation Minute about the ShelterBox program and Rotary's partnership.

President Joe then called up our scratch ticket fundraiser winner, Edward F. Fowler, Jr., and handed him 100 scratch tickets. Ed later reported in that the grand total was $515.

Last Week's Speaker

Last week's meeting was a working meeting for Pancake and Family Fun Day. This event will take place June 23 from 10-4 at Taunton High School. Plans are well underway with entertainment and corporate sponsorship. Our next steps are organizing the volunteers (talk to John B about your availability) and selling ad space (talk to Dave C.) All Rotarians need to help out with selling ads. Kit's raffle team is also getting started, so you can either donate a basket or money for Kit to shop with! We have two months, so we need to really kick into high gear!

Happy Bucks

Did you know that your happy and sad bucks help the club make a donation to the Rotary Foundation?

Harry was happy to be back from 3 months in Florida.
Dick was happy to have a B-P co-op in the office working on a lot of projects. Also, the Taunton River Festival will be Sunday, June 10 from 7-4. All nonprofits are invited to have a table at no charge.
Joanne had 5 dollars. 3 were sad for missing 3 meetings, but 2 were happy for two great weeks in Italy with her son.
Jody had 2 sad bucks. One was for Rev. Frank Danforth who passed away just before Easter and had a memorial service last weekend. The second was for Rev. Dr. James Martin who is losing his role at Mount Ida as Mount Ida merges with UMass Amherst.
Dan had 3 bucks. Two are gratitude bucks for the support of the recent TASC Spelling Bee. The other buck was for recently attending a a two-day conference in Maryland that showed a very vibrant, active church which Dan enjoyed being a part of.
Joe Mitchell had a happy buck for the Celtics being up 2-0.
Carol Sullivan was happy for the spelling bee, mostly because Linda Quinn was there and stepped in for her!
Ed had 10 happy bucks in thanks to Joe Livingston for pulling his name out of the hat for the scratch ticket fundraiser.
Johnny B. had 3 bucks. The first was sad that he wasn't able to make it to the spelling bee. On his way his brakes gave up. He did want everyone to know that the safely made it to his dealership and also learned how to spell e-x-t-o-r-t-i-o-n. He had an early grateful buck for all of the work already done and about to go into Pancake and Family Fun day. Finally, he planned to check out his abandoned pool at the new cape house this weekend. So he has a happy buck. Either his wife will be happy they can fix the pool and have a pool. Or he will be happy the pool can't be fixed and will need to be filled in. We await the results this week.
Joe Livingston had a sad buck for the for two students paired with him during spelling bee, even though he had a great time. He had a happy buck for his recent trip to Colorado. And he had a happy buck for the Giants and their #2 draft pick coming up.
