From the President

Joe Livingston shared some exciting Rotary news as he will be serving as Assistant District Governor starting in July. Congrats, Joe!

For anyone interested, there will be a "Nuts and Bots of Rotary" training November 10th at White's of Westport.

A reminder, the Rotary Foundation Dinner will be November 15. Details are in the header of this email. So far we have Joe M., Johnny B. and Mike T. representing the club at this event.

Thanks to Zulmira for bringing in some plastic bags to give to the Interact Club and their "plarn" project.

Carol Sullivan announced that the Head Start Christmas party will be December 13 at Pilgrim church. The events begins at 6 pm, but we need volunteers to arrive around 5 pm. Please talk to Carol you can volunteer to help out. We will start collecting for donations for kids presents at this week's meeting.

We are also planning our holiday lunch meeting at Taunton High School. Please either sign up on the sheet or talk to Ed Fowler by November 15 so we can put in our food order.

Happy Bucks

Did you know that your happy and sad bucks help the club make a donation to the Rotary Foundation?

Jackie Theis had 10 happy bucks for being here!
Johnny B. had 2 happy bucks. The first was because it was such a great day for motorcycle riding. The second was for how gorgeous his ride was in our beautiful New England autumn.
Ed had 2 happy bucks. The first was for the Red Sox. The second was because he actually stayed up to watch the whole 18 inning game. And then later in Happy/Sad Buck time, Ed had a 3rd buck to welcome Jen Livingston who he hasn't seen since she was scuba diving for turtles at Camp Cachalot.
Harry had a happy buck for the gorgeous foliage. His daughter misses foliage in Florida, and Harry was able to mail her some perfect leaves he came across so she can have a little taste of home.
Mike Q. had a happy buck for the Red Sox. He also had a happy buck for Carol visiting us to spread the word about the Flags of Courage fundraiser. He added that you can stop by Allan Walker or Davol printing to donate.
Jody had a happy buck for the upcoming Memorial United Methodist Church musical event on November 10th to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the armistice which ended WWI. At the event, the church will be taking collections for Homes for our Troops and all are invited.
Joe Mitchell also added a foliage buck for how gorgeous things have been lately.
Dick Shafer had an information buck for the TRWA Annual Meeting on Saturday, November 3 as well as the ribbon cutting at the new education center at Sweets Knoll State Park later that afternoon.
Dan L. had two retroactive bucks. The first was the thank John who provided music at the recent TASC event. Also, that his son got married recently! He also had a Red Sox buck and an info buck for the upcoming AHS wine tasting.
Joe L. had a happy buck to have Jen with us for lunch. He was happy that a team from the AL East won the World Series. He also enjoyed a meeting with the Attleboro Rotary Club recently which featured Jann Alden in a full witch costume.
Zulmira had a happy buck for the Red Sox. She also had a sad buck for her son, who goes to school on the parade route, sleeping through the parade!
