At our most recent meeting, we welcomed Quack aka Kevin Quackenbush. He got his name from his last name Quackenbush. He has been going by Quack since he was 3 and was often referred to as Quack Junior. Also goes by Q. One reason he here was to visit and establish contact and report with the Taunton Rotary to see how he can assist growing their club. He is the new president-elect this year and is first priority and goal is member growth and attendance. Another reason he joined us was to talk about what he is doing in the community and the groups he is a part of. He can never say 'No' to anyone, especially to kids. He would like to sit down and have a coffee chat with anyone who is interested and may want to partner. He currently works with School on Wheels as a tutor and mentor to transitional homeless children. There are over 21,000 transitional homeless children in Massachusetts and that number accounts only for those in the education system. School on Wheels has a backpack drive each year and they are trying to solicit donors and supporters for supplies. The target date for all to be collected is August 28th. Further, our region has over 3,000 transitional students who need a leg up and helping hand. Besides School on Wheels, he works with the Conway House in Middleboro.
