Last Week's Speaker

At our most recent meeting, we welcomed Dick Shafer for a re-classification talk. After 31 years in Rotary, Dick had a lot to share about his work in economic development for the city and specifically with the Myles Standish Industrial Park and Liberty and Union Industrial Park. Thanks to Dick for so much good work and for sharing it with us!

Next week we'll have an Interact presentation.

Happy Bucks
Did you know that your happy and sad bucks help the club make a donation to the Rotary Foundation?
  • Joanne had 5 bucks. Two were happy for two successful surgeries for her dad and co-worker, Doug, this past week. One was for a successful, sold-out golf tournament for P.R.I.D.E. recently. And the last two were for a wonderful day spent in Newport with Kate and Rosie.
  • Carol Souza had a Happy buck that Steve Torres will be speaking to the club on September 12.
  • John D. was happy to have his house back!
  • Dan L. had a buck for missing last week, but he was in New Hampshire at a beautiful house at Gunstock for SoulFest and thoroughly enjoyed in. He also had an info buck as he is looking for volunteer mock interviewers for summer Youth Works participants to practice with on August 16 from 10 to 11 a.m.
  • Dick had a Happy buck for being Boston and seeing the Downton Abbey exhibit. If you liked the show, you gotta see it.
  • Ed had a happy 5. He recommends Body Works at the Museum of Science. Was lucky enough to actually see the Red Sox win at a recent game. And he had a reminiscence buck about running into Steve Torres in Dallas, TX when they were both traveling for different conferences years ago.
