Club News & Announcements

• The District Governor’s Dinner will be held on September 10 at the New Bedford Moose Lodge. The event begins at 5:30 p.m., and a $5 donation is requested. This district-wide fellowship gathering provides an opportunity for members to connect and for the District Governor to meet with clubs without making individual visits throughout the year.

  If we have enough members interested in attending, we may designate this event as our weekly meeting for that week and not hold our regular lunch meeting that day. Please share your thoughts and let Jenn know if you would be interested in attending.

• We have an opportunity to showcase our club and our new marketing materials at Raynham Community Day on Sunday, September 27, 12-4 pm. We are looking for volunteers to help staff a Rotary information table and share information about our projects, programs, and impact in the community.

  If you are available to represent the club for a portion of the event, please reach out. Your participation would help us increase awareness of Rotary and connect with potential members and community partners.

• We are also gauging interest in participating in this year’s Taunton Christmas Parade, which will take place on Sunday, December 6. This is a great opportunity to showcase Rotary in the community and enjoy a fun holiday tradition together.

  If you would like to participate or help represent the club, please let us know. We’d love to have a strong Rotary presence in this year’s parade.

Finally, congratulations to John and Sarah, who were officially installed for the 2026–2027 Rotary year. We wish them success in their new leadership roles and look forward to working together in the year ahead.

At Our Most Recent Meeting...

...we were pleased to welcome Nate Pally, who introduced members to MyFriendBen, a free online tool designed to help individuals and families identify public benefits and financial resources for which they may be eligible.

MyFriendBen allows users to complete a simple, confidential screening to learn about potential eligibility for programs such as food assistance, health coverage, tax credits, childcare support, housing assistance, and other benefits. The platform aims to make it easier for people to access resources by providing clear information in one place and helping them navigate often complex application processes.

Thank you to Nate for sharing how MyFriendBen is working to connect people with valuable support services and improve access to benefits for those who need them.

 

 

• Zulmira shared a welcome buck for our newest corporate member, Kalyn Furtado, and another to welcome guest speaker Nate Pally. She also shared happy news that her son will be getting married on August 7.
• Carol Sullivan contributed an information buck to remind members about Raynham Community Day on September 27 from 12:00–4:00 p.m. She also offered an addendum buck, noting that John will be sad when all the sports seasons come to an end!
• John D. was happy that there are only six days until his trademark becomes official. He also shared that a founding member of Digital Tech Partners who had previously left the company has returned. On a personal note, he reported that his daughter’s final softball game has been played and that he and his wife will be celebrating their 18th wedding anniversary this weekend.
• Will offered a buck in recognition of Jenn for chairing her first Board meeting and another for Zulmira, whose meeting minutes were completed despite technical difficulties that left her without sound. He also shared that Julia is taking her first independent trip to the University of Miami (Ohio) for a conference at the home campus of the sorority she joined at Bryant.
• Ed was happy that the spring softball season concluded on Sunday and noted that fall season tryouts are taking place this week.
