We were pleased to welcome District Governor Russell Bertrand, who awarded the Club 5 District awards. They are: - Harold Goran received a commitment and longevity award for his 52 years of Rotary service! Bob Hunt accepted on his behalf and we offer our congratulations to Dr. Goran.
- The THS Interact Club received a "Significant Achievement" award for their work with the Water for Cambodia project.
- The Club received a "Public Image" award for recognizing a non-Rotarian as a Paul Harris Fellow with last year's award to Ann Marie Matulis.
- President Carol also accepted two awards on the Club's behalf which recognize her Rotary year. The first was the "Vibrant Club" award.
- and finally, the "District Governor's Excellence" award for participating in at least 14 of 21 district level events throughout the year.
District Governor Bertrand than awarded a Paul Harris award for Will Mendonca for his commitment to the Rotary Foundation. Congratulations Will! Finally, our scheduled speaker Carol Graves was unable to present as schedule. Instead, Carol asked the Pancake and Family Fun Day Committee Chairs have a brief update on preparations. Marketing Committee (Carol): 5,200 flyers will be distributed in grades K-4 in Raynham and Taunton. Carol has contacted a lot of local media organizations as well, so the word is being spread! Corporate Sponsors and Attractions (Dave): Dave asks everyone to share the event flyer on their Facebook pages. It is on our Club website here if you need a copy. Vendors are booked. Added "wipe out" this year for older kids. We are down to our last two corporate sponsorships to sell! Ads and food (Rich): Ads are slow! Please let Rich know if you have any contacts for ads. The Broadway banner is all set to go up. Lawn signs need stickers with this year's date so if you have any signs get them to Rich! Food permits all set. Have access to high school kitchen. Ordering food closer to date. Bureaucracy (Joe): Joe is handling details. Insurance and janitorial is all set. The Shelter Box will be on display in some form. Police and fire all set. We still need to figure out how to direct people into the event! Money (Maureen): Things are all set. Deposits will be made throughout the day. Raffle (Kit): Logistics are all set. The committee needs more raffle baskets and raffle prizes. Kit will shop for you if a donation is easier than making a basket! Volunteers (Johnny B): Let Johnny B know your availability! |
