At our most recent meeting...
At our most recent meeting, we were joined by Andrew Dawley, CEO of Community Counseling of Bristol County (CCBC). A social worker at heart, Andrew shared insights into his organization's response to Covid-19, including establishing a working telehealth model in 48 hours, successful remote operations, but sadly increased numbers of deaths among their clients due to the pandemic itself but also the related increases in stress, anxiety, depression, and opioid use. He stressed the need for both clients and his staff to focus on mental health. Some of his tips include focusing on your meaningful relationships and activities and let other things go. Celebrate little wins and try to string good days together if you are struggling. Eventually, he thinks we will be able to learn from the pandemic; most notably from the ways people and organizations responded to it, and that ultimately we will all be a little wiser in the future. Thanks to Andrew, not only for joining us but also for the work that you do and for the supportive words that you shared with us during these challenging times.
Our Venmo account is live! PLEASE: Include a note as to the purpose of your payment/funds, whenever using our new Venmo account!! The account is @Rotary-Taunton, but the visible name shows up as “Rotary Taunton Rotary Taunton.”
