Club News & Announcements

Thanks again to all the club members who joined in our recent Million Dollar Meal, and thanks to Maureen for hosting us.

A note to members--please think about speakers for meetings. We need to fill in some spots in our calendar, so if you have any interesting presenters in your network, please share their info. Zulmira has offered to coordinate (thank you!) so you can pass on information directly to her.

A reminder that there is a Board Meeting today (Tuesday) on Zoom. Board members are expected to attend, and the meeting is open to all members of the club. You can email Joe for the link if you'd like to attend.

Joe is working on reaching out to all the members. He is looking for feedback and for updated contact info for ClubRunner--so get ready for his call.

At our most recent meeting...

We enjoyed getting to know new member Sean Morrissey who shared his Classification Talk. We all look forward to working together in Rotary Service!

Happy & Sad Bucks

  • Carol had a number of happy bucks. She used her OCHM membership all around New England this summer with its reciprocal membership program. Thank you to Morton Hospital, club members, Bob, Chris Kelly, Will, Julia, and Dan (and Carol!) for help with the backpack program. She had a very happy buck for her granddaughter Kirstin for making the volleyball team at Bishop Stang and another happy buck for her granddaughter Amanda who started her first day at BCC.
  • Michael had two happy bucks. One was for dropping his eldest son off at college. The second was for Co-op celebrating its 50th anniversary with a gala on October 19.
  • Dick Shafer had a happy buck for a great recent trip to Lake George.
  • Dave had $20 bucks. Some were for missing a few meetings this summer but for lots of great reasons. Some were thank to Carol for the Backpack program. He's back in hockey season and at the rink 4 nights a week.
  • Zulmira had a happy buck for AHS starting fundraisers again after 4 years off!  See flyers over there

  • Jen had happy bucks for her daughters joining her for a tour of Great Britain. Still pinching herself for how great it was. She added a happy buck for her 1 year anniversary.
  • John had 3 happy bucks--kids back in school; the family had a great trip to Santa's Village; and his business is doing audit and compliance work with a major insurance company which is an exciting new opportunity.
  • Bob was happy to see the backpack project in the Gazette. He had a happy buck now that MassReconnect is now live and taking off. Campus is up 20 % this year.
  • Ed was happy for his 50th high school reunion. And he was happy that his granddaughter was recruited to play for the Taunton Tornadoes (from Seekonk!)
  • Joe had $20 happy bucks because he is getting married on September 16!
