Club News & Announcements

It is with a heavy heart that we report the passing of long time fellow Rotarian Donald "Don" A. Littlefield. Don was born on September 7, 1932 and was inducted into the Taunton Rotary Club on April 6, 1961. Don and his wife Lydia and four daughters resided in Raynham for many years before retiring to Block Island. Don's wife Lydia said that he was very proud to have perfect attendance at Rotary for over 30 years. There being no Rotary Club on Block Island Don would travel off Island weekly to attend Rotary meetings on the mainland, Don was an exemplar Rotarian to say the least. Our heartfelt prayers and sympathy go out to Don's wife Lydia and the entire Littlefield family.

Please note: We return to in person meetings this week at Stoneforge.

A reminder! President Bob has sent a link to a Member Satisfaction Survey. Please fill it out and share your thoughts so that we can get feedback to see how we can better engage our members and grow.

President Bob shared that the District PETS training is coming up. Anyone interested is encouraged to attend this free, virtual training.

Joe Mitchell shared a Rotary Minute focused on Rotary's role in Ukraine, which was appreciated by all in attendance.

Save the Date for Family Fun Day!  June 11 (rain date June 12), 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Camp Riverside.

At our most recent meeting...

We did not have a speaker last week, but look forward to welcoming Taylor Millspaugh this week to discuss CMRK: Closing with a Conscience to our next meeting.

Happy/Sad Bucks

  • Ed had a happy buck for Claire undergoing immunotherapy and so far having no major side effects.

  • Bob had a Happy/Sad buck. He shared that his wife, who has been waiting for a liver transplant for some time, had an appointment last week that showed the development of cancer in her liver.  On the positive side, it moves her up the list for a transplant and she has a positive outlook for current treatment as well as the transplant. Bob also added a happy buck for Bristol having recently hosted their first playoff basketball game, which they won, to move on to the final four of the region.

  • Dan had a happy buck for the Providence College Friars basketball win over Xavier.

  • Jody had a sad buck in memory of Don Littelfield.
