President Carol announced that the Board of Directors has approved her taking on a backpack project for students in need of supplies. She has secured 56 backpacks from High Sierra Backpacks and is looking for donations of school supplies (pens, pencils, highlighters, rulers, hand sanitizer, water bottles, etc.) to fill the backpacks. They will then be donated to students in need for the start of the school year. Because it is almost August, any donations need to be made as soon as possible. Ed Fowler let us know that the students in England will be heading home on July 22, and they'll share the recap of their trip with us at the August 11 meeting.

Joe M. was happy to have recently enjoyed a relaxing vacation. He was thankful for the gift from the Board and also happy to have been in Portugal when Portugal won the Euro Cup. It was quite an experience!
Dick S. had an announcement buck for the fishing event this Sunday at Dighton Rock State Park. This is a free, family friendly event. The Museum will be open as well, so you can come and fish or just enjoy the atmosphere.
John B. had a (joke) congrats buck to Joe Mitchell for being elected president-elect for next year. And a seriously happy buck that his daughter just got a job!
Dave C. was also happy to be back from vacation and shared a special Sacagawea buck.
Dan L. was happy to have his guest here here for the meeting. He also shared a "happy" buck for his Portuguese heritage friends on their Euro Cup win, but did feel that France had the better of the play throughout the match and could have won that game on another day.
Russ had a happy buck to welcome George Mendros back.
Ed was happy the kids will back from England tomorrow after a great trip.
At the July 21st meeting, Dan LeBrun was the Program Chair. Dan arranged for former professional football player and current New England Patriots scout, Steve Cargile to present. Steve was a great speaker who shared his experiences playing I-AA collegiate football at Columbia where he earned a degree in Economics. He also talked about his 5+year career in the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Denver Broncos, and New York Giants. Since 2011 he has been working for the New England Patriots in Player Personnel and is currently one of three pro scouts who works to evaluate opponents to help with the game planning for each week's game. Steve gave a great inside look into the league and answered a lot of questions from the enthusiastic football fans in the room.
