How you can help! Fundraising!
Do you know someone looking to promote their business? Or who would benefit from advertising at Family Fun Day?

Use this Sponsorship Ask to start the conversation. If interested, a business can learn more and select their level with the Sponsorship Form. If they are interested, but looking for a smaller commitment, share the Ad Form

These forms can all be found on our club website, and will continue to be linked in this space through the event! Please keep Dave in the loop as you secure sponsors and ads. And be sure to reach out with any questions. Our fundraising goal is only possible if everyone is a part of the process!

Rotary in the News

Carol Sullivan shared news articles about Rotarians and Rotary-related business. Articles included an obituary for Jim Orcutt, co-founded of My Brothers Keeper, BCC celebrating diversity, and the President of BCC announcing her retirement in 2025.

At our most recent meeting...

...Shavon Tolson updated the club on the goings on at TASC which has seen lots of changes and new programming and growth in the past 3 years. She highlighted the pre-employment assistance program for area high school students who need assistance as well as a collaboration with BCC for workshops for families to help with FAFSA as well as getting people more familiar with community colleges (often no cost) and moving into a Bachelor's degree program.

Bridging the Gap is a youth empowerment event at BCC Fall River and all schools in the district with discussions on digital responsibility, credit for life with help from local banks, and workshops on healthy relationships. They will have 9-10 scholarships $200-500 each will be given out and then a Resource Fair after the event with trade schools, colleges, and other programs.

She also mentioned 8 students in a CNA program now being placed into paid internships. There are July-Aug paid internships available (paid by TASC) for companies who need assistance if anyone looking for an intern.

Thanks to Shavon! And to Jenn for taking notes this week!

Happy & Sad Bucks

  • Kim Lavigne had a happy buck for her first grandchild on the way.
  • Jenn O. had a happy buck for Kim Lavigne for getting her broker's license.
  • Bob Hunt was happy to be here and celebrated his 85th bday last week.
  • Dick had a buck for a former foreign exchange student who had come to visit for Blizzard of 78 and she said it was more than back home in Switzerland and they had block parties in the snow.
  • John D. had a buck for a Rotary meeting at the Cape, his wife coming home from Arizona this week, and for going out with George Mendros the other night where they got to know each other better.
  • Shavon had a buck for her guest Marian and for being here this week after missing a few meetings.
  • Ed had a buck for the anniversary of the Blizzard of 78. He was 21 years old, snowed in, and his father sent him and a few others out to get some beer with the toboggan. He remembered stopping by neighbors to check and see what they needed. As he headed home from Trucchis the group decided to have a beer which ended up with them drinking all of it, and then they had to go back out because they had drank all of their dad's beer.

Ed won the scratch ticket this week.
