NEXT MEETING: July 25, 2024
5:30 p.m. at Seafood & Cones

Club News & Announcements

Our most recent meeting was held on Thursday, July 18, at Stoneforge in Raynham. It was George Mendros's first meeting as President!

We started with great news: While still at Mass General, Dan LeBrun is improving and had a good week! Continue sending Dan your good wishes, they are working!

A reminder that our Cognac raffle is live. Zulmira is handling selling tickets, so please reach out to her. The raffle will run until all 50 tickets are sold, and then we will pull a winner. We have 11 left to sell.

Please note: There will be a Board Meeting on August 13th. Board members are expected to attend and any member is invited to attend if they wish to.

Next week: It's the last Thursday of the month, so we will have our evening meeting. We'll meet at Seafood and Cones at 5:30.

Backpack project update: Morton Hospital is putting together a donation of supplies. The Raynham Flea is donating 85 backpacks. We will need more supplies or financial donations to fill the backpacks!!! And we'll need volunteers to help pack them. Bring supplies to a meeting or let Carol Sullivan know if you need something picked up. We are looking at the second week of August for packing--maybe. So stay tuned.

At our most recent meeting...

... one of our newest members, Sarah Campbell gave her Classification Talk to the club.

Sarah shared she is a graduate of Keene State College, a lifelong athlete, and currently serves as the Executive Director of P.R.I.D.E. We learned about her educational journey, how she came to P.R.I.D.E., all about the good work that P.R.I.D.E. does to help adults with intellectual disabilities, and even about how she is trained to throw haymakers if we ever need her to!

Sarah even brought swag to her talk, which was a highlight. We are excited to continue the long relationship between P.R.I.D.E. and the Rotary Club of Taunton and welcome Sarah to Rotary.

Happy & Sad Bucks

  • Ed had a buck for the good report about Dan, a buck in thanks for Joe's Rotary Year, and a buck for George at the start of his Rotary year.
  • Joe had a Happy buck, and "it's pretty easy to guess why." :)
  • Carol Sousa had a happy buck for Dan, a sad buck that she came to the Stoneforge for a meeting last week that we didn't have, but a happy buck that she ran into an old friend while she was here which was a treat!
  • Sarah had a happy buck that her classification talk is now over. And a happy buck that she is off on a fun vacation next week.
