Guests
You can bring a guest to a Rotary meeting!
This week we welcomed:

  • Amy Conley from AHS

Last Week's Speaker
At our most recent meeting, we heard from Rich Volkmann, Benefits Account Executive at FBinsure. Rich spoke to the club about Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker signing Bill H.4640 into law. The bill establishes a mandatory statewide paid family and medical leave program, which will be administered by the new Department of Family and Medical Leave (DFML). The leave program will be financed through employer and employee contributions. FBInsure has a great explanation of this new law, which has been added to the Rotary Homepage for anyone who wishes to reference it. There is also a one-page poster to be posted in all offices. Thanks, Rich!
Happy Bucks
Did you know that your happy and sad bucks help the club make a donation to the Rotary Foundation?
  • Ed had a happy buck for all of Zulmira's work on the raffle table. He also had a sad buck to report that the woman who passed out on Morril Martin Day, while doing fine, just found out her husband has cancer. Ed asks us all to keep a good thought for their family.
  • Carol had 3 happy bucks. The first was for a successful Pancake and Family Fun Day. The second was for her term as president coming up again. And finally, just a buck for being at the meeting.
  • Dave C. had 3 happy dollars that were the total collected from the "Donations" jar at Pancake and Family Fun Day. He also added his thanks to everyone who volunteered.
  • Mike Tabak was happy for Pancake and Family Fun Day. He was happy for Will and Cam who spent the day in the sun blowing up balloons. And he was happy to win the scratch ticket raffle  (AGAIN!) where he scratched a total of $755.
  • Joe L. had a sad buck for his recent trip to PA to attend a funeral. He was happy to be able to reconnect with some friends and family over Father's Day Weekend. He had a happy buck for everyone who worked on Pancake and Family Fun Day. And he added a happy/sad buck about his time as president coming to an end.
