Next Meeting: August 17, 2023 (Aug 10, 2023)

Our most recent meeting was led by President Joe Mitchell. We enjoyed some al fresco dining at the Stoneforge, and thank Matt for all the work to make that possible. We were also pleased to welcome Carol's guest, her granddaughter Meghan.

We did not have a speaker, so Joe gave some updates:

Our next meeting will be a Club Assembly. Joe will moderate an open forum about our club. If you have ideas, suggestions, questions, or anything else to discuss please bring them!
On August 24th, our lunch meeting will be at the Y.
On August 31st, we'll host a Million Dollar Meal for our evening meeting at Maureen Cody's house. Our District Governor will be attending. Everyone needs to bring a food item, and Maureen will be coordinating, so please keep an eye out for an email.
A Board meeting was held on 8/8. The annual budget was approved. One of Joe's major goals is to modernize our club and use the ClubRunner system we pay for which has lots of functionality we can use. Stay tuned for more details!

Carol Sullivan gave a Backpack Service Project update.
She thanked everyone for the donations for the backpacks. Stuffing will take place the week of the 21st. Stayed tuned for the date and time if you'd like to join.

Michael C. was sad that his offices have lost power all week, but happy for the great weather today.
Carol had 4 happy bucks that her grandkids all took time off work to visit in Narragansett. She had an extra happy buck for Meghan joining us for lunch. A sad buck that her sister Lola's husband passed away recently. And a final happy buck for a trip to UVM for Kirstin to tour UVM.
Dan had happy bucks for a celebratory month of August that includes birthdays and anniversaries for his whole family. He had a happy buck for starting voice therapy, and for doing as well as he is doing. He was extra happy that for his birthday, he received a Fender Acoustasonic guitar, which is lighter and easier for him to play.
Ed was happy that Claire, who is doing radiation and chemo at the same time for 3 weeks, felt well enough to go attend some softball tournaments this past weekend. And at one, their granddaughter Emma was named MVP.
Joe was happy to be able to have a meeting today and happy that Stoneforge was able to accommodate us.
