 President Announcements

President Joe reminded members that the January 28, 2016 meeting is at 12 Noon at Whites of Westport.  The Fall River Club is acting as host as State Senator Patricia Haddad will receive a Paul Harris Fellow.   On February 4, 2016 the Million Dollar Meal will be held at the Pilgrim Church.  On February 25, 2016 the Interact Club will have their charter ceremony.  
 
Kit Tunney spoke briefly on the activities of the Interact Club.  They are having a candy sale to raise $750 to clean the coats that are gathered during the drive.  If you have a coat to donate or would like to donate $$ see President Joe, Kit or Carol Sullivan.

Happy & Sad Bucks

 

Did you know that your happy and sad bucks help the club make a donation to the Rotary Foundation? 

  • John B. was happy to have the Patriots in the AFC Championship game and off to New Orleans for a trip.
  • Rick C. was happy to meet Molly Durocher
  • Ray was happy that this week he and his wife Melissa are celebrating their 25th Wedding Anniversary
  • Carol Sullivan was happy to say that Molly Durocher was her penpal when Molly was in the 4th grade.
  • Chris Kelley was also happy to see Molly but sad about the winter forecast this winter
  • Joe M. was sad that his car died on route 140 but AAA and his girlfriend bailed him out.

 Phil Roberston mentioned an article in the recent Rotarian Magazine on Peace Fellowes in Asia.  In the article, on page 46, a young man is mentioned that Phil and his wife Anne met several years ago when they traveled to Thailand for the International Convention.

Program Speaker
Rick Conti introduced Gina Perez and Tony Almeida from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Correction, Community Work Crew Central Division.  The division was established in 2007 to help soon to be released inmates to reestablish a work ethic.  Several examples of woke done in the community was discussed and after several questions and answers Gina and Tony received Rotary mugs from Rick and President Joe.
