President Joe presented the changes made by Rotary International and District regarding Rotary Clubs in general. Everyone received the “rules and regulations” changes via e-mail from Rotary District 7950. Joe asked the membership to read the new changes to remain up-to-date on District news.

Did you know that your happy and sad bucks help the club make a donation to the Rotary Foundation?
 
  • Rick C. was happy to have recently received another title to add to the many accreditations, designations and titles that follow his name. Congrats Rick!
  • Christine K. gave a Happy Buck to congratulate Joe on a wonderful presentation, a great year, and best wishes to Carol Sullivan as President Elect.
  • Dick S. was happy for the success of the Taunton River trip and a gave a Thank You Buck to President Joe.
  • David T. was happy that he caught the biggest Bass ever in his back yard and then threw it back. And also a big Thank You to Joe.
  • Ed F. gave a number of Happy Bucks to honor Rick Conti on his latest achievement and for President Joe Mitchell “who is a Past President of the Bourne/Sandwich Club and twice President of the Taunton Club.”
  • Phil R. donated a Happy Buck to congratulate President Joe on a great year.
  • Dan L. threw in Five Happy and Announcement Bucks because he will be leaving the mortgage department at Bank Five after one of his best years to date, and he will be taking over the leadership of the TASC program at Associates for Human Services. Dan also gave Kudos to Joe Mitchell for a wonderful year.
  • Joe L. gave a Happy Buck to announce that his car is packed and he will be heading off to the Boy Scout Camp where everything is in “full swing”.
  • Kit T. contributed $5 Happy Bucks to the “Kitty” (no pun intended) to welcome Dan LeBrun aboard at Associates for Human Services and TASC. Kit also congratulated and thanked Joe Mitchell, Carol Sullivan, and Joe Livingston for taking on leadership roles in our Club.
  • David C. tossed in $5 Happy Bucks to thank the Interact Club and RYLA members for stepping up to the plate on Rotary Pancake and Family Fun Day to help out, especially with the dunk tank. Dave also congratulated President Joe and thanked him for a great Rotary Year.
  • Carol Souza gave two Happy Bucks to thank President Joe for giving us a great year.
  • Deborah Logan from the THS Interact Club donated two Happy Bucks in honor of President Joe’s leadership and involvement with the THS Interact Club.
  • Joe Mitchell made a Happy Buck donation to thank everyone for their support during his year, and added a Boston Celtic’s Buck.

Program Speaker
This past week was very busy. Deborah Lopes and Sienna Strictland spoke briefly about their RYLA experience telling the Club member’s assembled that it was “fun and a great experience”. They both made a lot of new friends and felt RYLA was a terrific learning experience. They both received Rotary mugs and posed for a ‘Kit Tunney’ photo with President Joe.

Ed Fowler gave the Club members assembled a refresher course on how, why, when we hold our Annual Election for Officers and Directors. Club Secretary Dan LeBrun cast the Club’s vote to accept the slate of Officers and Directors and it was seconded by Phil Robertson. The members present gave a YEA voice vote to accept the slate of Officers and Directors as presented.

And finally, President Joe Mitchell gave his End of Year Address. His presentation touched on topics ranging from membership development and foundation giving to online tool adoption and humanitarian service. The report also highlighted our year's fundraising efforts and the great success of sponsoring an Interact Club at Taunton High School. Joe also thanked the many Rotarians that helped make this year a success, including bowling, beer tasting, and family fun day. 


Our next meeting will be July 14 and President Carol Sullivan is Program Chair for this date.
