Club News & Announcements

• Raynham Community Day on Sunday, September 27, 12-4 pm. We are looking for volunteers to help staff a Rotary information table and share information about our projects, programs, and impact in the community.

• We are also gauging interest in participating in this year’s Taunton Christmas Parade, which will take place on Sunday, December 6. This is a great opportunity to showcase Rotary in the community and enjoy a fun holiday tradition together.

At Our Most Recent Meeting...

...Sarah Campbell introduced guest speaker Cayte Fisher of PRIDE's Day Habilitation program. One of PRIDE's programs, the Day Habilitation program is for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and Acquired Brain Injury (ABI). The program provides structured support designed to help participants build independence, strengthen daily living skills, and improve their overall quality of life.

 

Daily programming includes life skills training, therapeutic activities, and community integration opportunities that encourage confidence and growth. • Ed had a Sad buck for having to attend the funeral of a long-term client. He added some Happy bucks for family updates: one grandchild is having a great summer as a softball catcher in Rhode Island, another is playing with the Mass Dynamites, and the oldest is moving up to the 18U level at just 14 years old. He was also excited to acquire what is believed to be the oldest known Taunton bank note at a recent auction.
• Julie had a Sad buck for the passing of a friend over the weekend. She also shared Happy bucks for a fun family vacation and for the silver lining of the opportunity to support Robin's Corner Flower Shop.
• Sarah had a Happy buck for having Cayte visit the club and another for the success of PRIDE's recent annual golf tournament.
• Carol Sullivan shared a $10 contribution from Christine Kelly, who is always happy to help with the backpack project and is excited to be closing on a home on Cape Cod. Carol added her own Happy bucks to welcome all of our guests today.
• Dave C. had a tale and a Good Samaritan buck after leaving his wallet on the bed of his truck during a lunch-hour errand. Thankfully, someone found it and turned it in. He added another Happy buck for an upcoming cruise departing tomorrow—and he's especially happy that he'll have his wallet with him!
• Carol Souza had a Happy buck for celebrating a wonderful birthday with family and another for a special dinner with her grandson, who surprised her with flowers and a travel-sized version of the game Sorry.
• John had a Sad buck as his wife recently lost her grandmother. He added Happy bucks for purchasing a used truck in New Hampshire, winning on a scratch ticket that morning, and having a trademark confirmed at work.
