President Carol Sullivan reminded the club of her membership challenge. There have been three recent membership applications, which is great! This challenge is ongoing and all are encouraged to bring a prospective member to a meeting and educate them about all the great work that Rotary does.
An update on the Annual Beer and Wine Tasting event: Quality Beverage is undergoing a major renovation. They are still enthusiastic about a wine tasting fundraiser in late October, but we will have to make accommodations off site. Details are in the works and more information will be coming at a future meeting.
President Carol also passed around an article in the Taunton Daily Gazette highlighting our recent backpack drive.
President Carol also mentioned that the club received two thank you notes recently from the Boys & Girls Club--one for the backpacks and one for the club's recent donation.

Stephanie shared a happy buck as a "thank you" for 25 backpacks recently distributed to students in need at the Y. The students and their families were very appreciative. She still has a few more to donate to worthy kids.
Carol Souza was happy to see Marie Smith who is a longtime friend.
Joe Mitchell had a happy buck for the rain which was falling during our meeting--finally!
Jody shared a sad buck as he announced that Jenny V Martin, widow of our scholarship namesake Rev. Morrill Martin, passed away recently at the age of 96. She lived a very full and happy life and was in good health right up until the end.
Johnny B. was sad for missing recent meetings because of a busy work schedule.
At the September 1st meeting, Carol Sullivan was the Program Chair. Carol introduced Raynham's Director of Planning and Development, Tim Inacio who updated the club on new and ongoing development in the Town of Raynham. Having joined the Town of Raynham in April, after working for the town of Gloucester, RI, Tim is still learning the ropes but seemed very well versed in the projects currently underway in Raynham. Tim's plans for the future are focused on created a GIS map to be hosted on the town's website so that the public can see planned, ongoing, and future projects to increase knowledge and transparency of the projects moving forward.
For this week's meeting Joe Mitchell is the Program Chair. Joe has arranged for Bianca Martin a Family Intake Specialist at Triumph Inc. Head Start in Taunton to present to the club.
