Club News & Announcements
From the President
President Joe Livingston welcomed everyone to our most recent meeting on November 29, 2018.

Reminders:
  • This week, on 12/6, we will enjoy our Annual Luncheon at Taunton High school. Lunch will be at noon. The High School is at 55 Williams Street. When you arrive, head around the school and there is a small parking lot in the back by the fields. There should be a student to guide you where you need to go, but if not you can ask for "The Presentation Room."
  • The following week, on 12/13 our meeting will be at Pilgrim Church for the Head State Children's Christmas Party. Party starts at 5 pm. Volunteers are needed at 4:30 pm. There will be NO lunch meeting that day.
  • We'll be back at Stoneforge on 12/20 for our regular meeting. This will be a Pancake and Family Fun Day Planning meeting, so if you are a committee chair please do your best to attend. A Board meeting will immediately follow lunch. Everyone is invited to the board meeting.
  • No meeting on 12/27 for Christmas. Have a happy holiday!
Guests
You can bring a guest to a Rotary meeting!
This week we welcomed:

  • Barbara Hunt
  • Our speaker, Peter Kelleher
Last Week's Speaker

At our most recent meeting, our speaker was Peter Kelleher "The Soupman." Peter presented on his work to help the homeless population all across New England. You may see his red bus in the area, as he distributes food and clothes to those in need. You can learn more about his work online at https://supportthesoupman.org/

Happy Bucks
Did you know that your happy and sad bucks help the club make a donation to the Rotary Foundation?
  • Ed had a happy 10 for his recent trip to California. Not only did he enjoy a financial conference, he randomly had lunch in a room of 3,000 with a man from Middleboro who's brother went to high school with Ed! Ed and Claire then became television stars in the front area of Disneyland's televised Christmas concert featuring Gwen Stefani.
  • Dick had an announcement buck for all of the holiday events taking place locally during the upcoming weekend.
  • Joe L. was happy for the Giants, once again, stumbling their way towards to high NFL draft pick. He also had a "small world" encounter with a fellow Attleboro Community Theater actor showing up next to him at Disneyworld.
  • Joe Mitchell shared a Rotary dollar. He was sad to say that his mother passed away last week, but that a speaker we had at Rotary who presented on Old Colony Hospice became a great resource for his mother and his family over the past year and he was very thankful for that.
  • Cameron was sad because Michigan got crushed by Ohio State 2 weeks ago.
  • Mike Tabak had a "thanks" buck to Joe Mitchell for leading our club's delegation to the recent Foundation dinner.
