President Carol thanked those who have already returned sold raffle tickets. All are encouraged to take and sell as many tickets at possible. The goal is to sell all 400 before Christmas, and these would be a great gift for your office Yankee Swap or for that person who has everything. If we sell them all, we will be able to add $3,000, to our scholarship fund, so sell, sell, sell!
Carol also thanked the 11 Rotarians who were able to come early for last week's meeting. Assistant Governor Charlene J. Jarest was pleased to meet you all and very impressed with our club's membership.
An update from the Interact Club at Taunton High School: Debbie Logan, our Taunton High Interact Leader, held an informational meeting for the club last week. There was a small, but enthusiastic group for the first meeting. They will be continuing to recruit and electing officers this week as they get plans in place for the school year.
Most recent board meeting was on 9/22 at 5:30 p.m. at Associates for Human Services.
Flyers were handed out for the upcoming Open House at Marian Manor and for the Providence Bruins Rotary Night on November 5th. Hockey tickets are $15 and $5 of every ticket sale goes towards the Rotary Polio Plus Campaign.

Bob Hunt had two happy dollars. The first was for a recent trip with his older sister to cross Block Island off her bucket list. He was able to also get together with Don Littlefield, who says hi to all. The second happy buck is for seeing Jan Alden at the bank. Jan will be Bob's guest next week.
Kit shared a happy buck for AHS's spaghetti supper fundraiser at St. Nicholas of Myra in Dighton.
John B took us on a roller coaster of bucks this week. He had a happy buck for the best motorcycle day of the year. Followed by a sad buck because his motorcycle didn't start. But, its OK! Another happy buck for the stellar play of back-up Patriots quarterback Jimmy Garrapolo. Oh, another sad buck for Jimmy's sprained AC joint. Finally, a "wait and see" buck for the game on 9/22 against the Texans. As you read this on the following Tuesday, I think it's safe to move this one to the happy column.
For the 100th Anniversary of the National Park Service and of Rotary, Mikah Meyer, a former Rotary Scholar, is on a trip to visit all of the country's national parks. To read more about Mikah and his trip, clickhere.
At the September 22nd meeting, Kerrie Babin was the Program Chair and she introduced Glenn Barboza, owner of Berkley Beer Company. Glenn gave a great presentation about his own "nanobrewery" and its growth from tiny origins in his barn in Berkley to plans to open a taproom in the former Reed & Barton factory. Glenn shared a wealth of knowledge from his experience as an entrepreneur and also about how beer is made. One enraptured attendee called it "the best Rotary meeting he had ever been to." Many thanks to Glen for a great program.
For this week's meeting we will be having a joint meeting with the Kiwanis Club. MA REP Shaunna O'Connell will be our speaker and she will be sharing an update of activities at the Statehouse.
