From the President
Our most recent meeting was held on Thursday, March 7, 2019, at Stoneforge. Following the regular lunch meeting, there was a Board meeting. A reminder that all members of the club are invited to attend board meetings if you are interested in learning more or discussing a topic with the group. 
 

Upcoming calendar items:

  • March 14 will be a regular lunch meeting.
  • March 21 will be our club Spelling Bee to send a team to the TASC Spelling Bee.
  • March 28 our speaker will be Superintendent John Cabral.
  • Tree planting event coming up this spring.

Last Week's Speaker
At our most recent meeting, we a Rotary Pancake and Family Fun Planning meeting. 
 
This week, we welcome Janet Richardi. Janet is the Dementia Friendly Taunton Consultant and you might also know her as the Coordinator of the South Coast Regional Network to End Homelessness.  As the Dementia Friendly Taunton Consultant, Janet’s job is to encourage local businesses and groups to engage in Dementia Friendly strategies and practices.  She will be providing Dementia Friendly training throughout Taunton in an effort to raise awareness and improve knowledge about dementia.

Janet is retired from upper management in the Eastern Massachusetts Girl Scout Council where she worked for over 25 years. Additionally, Janet has a Master’s in Public Administration from Suffolk University and has served on many boards and committees throughout the area.  She lives in Norton with her husband of 37 years and their little dog, Sophie; Janet has three children and 5 grandchildren.
Happy Bucks
Did you know that your happy and sad bucks help the club make a donation to the Rotary Foundation?
  • Ed. had two bucks. The first was a happy buck for the recent Knights of Columbus St. Patrick's Day program success. The second was more of an amazement buck for driving right by the vape store in East Taunton as it was being drug busted two weeks ago. 
  • Darrell had a buck for his daughter who is currently traveling through Austria and Hungary and loving it. 
  • Joe L. had a sad buck for missing the Knights of Columbus St. Patty's Day event. He had an excited buck to be attending an upcoming Rotary PETS. Joe threw in a happy buck for the Sakana event and a final happy buck for the start to the celebrations of his wife's birthday month. 
  • Dick had a happy buck for his for first Caribbean cruise recently, which sounded great!
