A reminder that our fall service project group, led by Carol Sullivan, will be organizing a Backpack for Kids campaign. If you or your business has school items to donate please let Carol know. We are also accepting monetary donations to support the project.
There will be a Board meeting next week. Board members are expected to attend, and all are invited to attend.
Happy birthdays and anniversary wishes were sent for August.
And welcome to our guest, Kit Tunney!
At our most recent meeting...
...we enjoyed a presentation on The Second Half: Lifelong Learning Institute with Executive Director Roberta Melton and super-student Paul.
The Second Half: Lifelong Learning Institute is a community-based membership, self-governing, non-profit organization whose programs provide intellectual stimulation and social interaction.
The Second Half provides opportunities for residents of southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island to participate in study groups, interest groups, lectures, and special events, so members can expand their knowledge as well as their social circles. We have fun. Classes are convenient, meeting once a week during daytime hours in either our classrooms at 421 Currant Road, Fall River, or in satellite locations.
Kit had three happy bucks. Happy to be at the meeting, happy to be maintaining important relationships in her retirement, and happy for the Second Half.
Zulmira was happy to have Kit join us today and happy for our speakers.
Paul was happy to be at the meeting and loved the singing.
Ed had a sad dollar that a $500 Taunton note from 1850 recently sold for $13,200 meaning he didn't get it. He added a happy buck from Claire because he didn't get it.
Jody had a happy buck to see Kit at the meeting, and a happy buck for Charlene's last day of summer school which now means she if officially retired.
