At our most recent meeting...
At our most recent meeting, we were joined by Merrill Davidson the Development Director for Community Relations for United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley. Merrill fundraises, manages relationships and volunteer projects, and has been with United Way for many years. In 2008 he received an M.A. in Nonprofit Management and serves as a member of several chambers in the area. On the weekends he can be seen on the Cape!
United Way of Massachusetts Bay has been quite busy in the last few months. Six months after launching the COVID-19 Family Support Fund, which supports dozens of cities most affected by the public health and economic impact of the pandemic, UWMB has provided more than 300,000 households with financial assistance to help pay for their food, housing, utilities, and other basic needs. Working with 170 agency partners and municipal leaders on the front lines of their communities, United Way has raised and distributed more than $8 million in direct funding for families, as well as providing ongoing funding to help nonprofits survive. In the next few months, United Way will remain focused on generating resources for focused, coordinated, and comprehensive response to empower the community to recover, re-imagine and rebuild early education, out-of-school time, economic stability, and racial justice.

Rebecca had a happy buck for the small-scale mentoring program that is still going on virtually at TASC. TASC has also developed a virtual internship program.
Zulmira had a thank you buck for the AHS calendar raffle in the newsletter. And she had a buck for her dog who is having surgery on his knee.
Will had a happy buck for our speaker, and a happy buck to see his girls doing well this school year on their progress reports.
