At Our Most Recent Meeting...

...Jody Fiore introduced Charlene Fiore and Megan Peters of Pine Street Preschool in Taunton.

Charlene, currently the president of the board, joined the board in 1990, drawn to the preschool’s warm, family-oriented atmosphere. She noted that three Rotarians were among the original founders. Megan Peters, who became director earlier this year, has been part of Pine Street Preschool for 23 years—starting right out of high school.

Today, the school operates two classrooms serving 40 children, with plans to increase capacity to 50 by 2026. Staff turnover is remarkably low, with many teachers being past parents, grandparents, and local residents.

Since its founding in 1969, Pine Street Preschool’s mission has been to provide affordable daycare and early education, supporting children and families in the community. They continue to update and renovate their facilities to ensure a safe, welcoming space for generations to come.

Thank you for joining us for lunch, and for all the work that you do!

Happy & Sad Bucks

  • Zulmira had a buck for Linda LeBrun who returned to work at Wise Day Care. And a buck for Dan whose birthday and wedding anniversary are soon.

  • Carol Souza was happy to have donated to the backpack program and is grateful to be alive.

  • Joe is happy to be traveling to Anchorage, Alaska, to visit his granddaughters.

  • John D. is happy to have celebrated his daughter’s 8th birthday at Camp Riverside, a great birthday spot.

  • Dick S. is happy to be heading to the Poconos and picking up a new Chevy Equinox.

  • Ed had 10 bucks for a long story: attended 3 funerals and 3 wakes, lost a cousin, then heard of another passing—8 in total around the same time. Also told a story from a friend in the Air Force about the Iran bombing, confirming the capabilities of bunker buster bombs.
