Club News & Announcements

President Bob ran this week's meeting.

Upcoming Events:
  • The district’s annual Providence Bruins event is coming up on February 26. See President Bob for tickets.
  • Our annual dinner meeting with the Interact Club will be held March 16 at the Home Plate.
  • Rotary Leadership Institute will be offering sessions. Our region's is scheduled for 3/18 in Bourne should anyone be interested in attending.
  • The District Conference is scheduled for April 28-30 at Seacrest.

At our most recent meeting...

...Dave Correia kicked off our Family Fun Day planning as we are only four months away from the big day: Saturday, June 10 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Thanks to Dave's hard work, Camp Riverside is booked, activities have been booked and the insurance is coordinated. Zulmira worked with the TMLP so that our save-the-date is in their quarterly newsletter. And the Boys and Girls Club is assisting with a pre-registration process to cover their liability but keep the lines moving.

Things that are "in the works" include booking a larger shuttle as well as additional off-site parking to accommodate the crowds.

We do have a few areas of need. We need a Volunteer Coordinator, to work directly with Dave to ensure we have enough volunteers ahead of time, and that they are being used and rotated during the event. PLEASE REACH OUT if you can help with this. We are also sourcing food truck recommendations. We'd like to have two this year.

And most importantly, it's time to reach out to our sponsors to fund this amazing, family event! Materials for sponsorships are posted on our website. here:

Happy & Sad Bucks

  • Zulmira was happy that Kit was the winner of AHS's scratch ticket raffle. She added a grateful buck that Dan's surgery went well.
  • Debbie added a "ditto" buck.
  • Jen had an update buck for having to leave abruptly last week. Her Dad had a fall but is OK! And didn't even miss the Bruins game the next day. She had a happy buck for her senior at BP being the top senior at Skills USA for collision shop.
  • Julie had a mix of happy and sad bucks: two sons are doing great on the employment front with some recent job training in Florida for one and work at the Star Drive In for the other. Sad that her seventeen year old has a funeral for a fellow student coming up. Excited that her daughter has her BP interview this month.
  • Ed had a sad buck for the recent passing of Shelly Costa and two of his neighbors.
