Last Week's Speaker

Our meeting was a Family Fun Day planning meeting. Dave gave a recap of the financials from the 2019 event. With a few outstanding receipts, it appears that net profits are $7,665. This is up from last year, but short of our $10,000 goal. It is also a little inflated because it includes some of the Raffle Ticket sales that occurred at the event.

A quick recap is that sponsors covering the entertainment and logistics nets us about $3,800. We then made $600 in placemat ads, netted $600 in food profit, made $1000 in raffle sales.

The question for the club is: Do we want to continue this event?

Discussion ensued about the importance of fundraising, the visibility of the event, perhaps changing locations, the possibility of two smaller events instead of one big event, and how we can promote ad sales more. No decisions were reached.

Happy Bucks
Did you know that your happy and sad bucks help the club make a donation to the Rotary Foundation?
  • Ed was happy to be going to the Seekonk Speedway to see pumpkins getting smashed this weekend.
  • John D. was happy about his one-year Rotary anniversary.
  • Dick shared the October Arts Collaborative Taunton calendar and happy it has so many great upcoming events on it.
  • Dan a buck for the upcoming TASC Appreciation Dinner.
  • Zulmira had a thank you buck for everyone who went to the AHS Spaghetti Supper and had a reminder about the AHS Wine Tasting coming up in November.
  • Joanne had a happy buck because John has now been with us for a full 12 months.
